I've found that a good resource for learning more about SEO is the book "Search Engine Optimization: Your visual blueprint for effective Internet marketing." It gives you the knowledge you need to do it yourself if you so choose, and if you prefer to hire someone to do it for you, it gives you a better idea of what you need and what you're looking for.

Hi Mitch,

Price will depend on the length and depth of your SEO engagement, so I can't say what a line item price would be for each of those things.

I actually don't think it would be wise to separate out the services. What you really want is an SEO strategy--a course of action for natural search optimization that takes into account your products, customers, competitors and technology. Each of those individual elements feeds into that strategy instead of being separate things.

I'm obviously very partial, but I think my employer, Commerce360, has great SEO consultants. www.commerce360.com. Drop me a line if you'd like more information alex @ alexlcohen . com.

Cheers,
-Alex

Do you have any recommendations for good SEO consultants? How much should one expect to pay for their services as a range, or broken out by your above service categories?
