It gives you the knowledge you need to do it yourself if you so choose, and if you prefer to hire someone to do it for you, it gives you a better idea of what you need and what you're looking for. What you really want is an SEO strategy--a course of action for natural search optimization that takes into account your products, customers, competitors and technology. Each of those individual elements feeds into that strategy instead of being separate things. I actually don’t think it would be wise to separate out the services.
