#1 - Never Stop Learning

The only constant is change. This is more true of interactive marketing than any other discipline that I can think of. Keeping up with the evolving internet is the only way to keep ahead of the competition.

  1. Keep abreast of breaking industry news with sites like TechCrunch.
  2. Take the time to read deeply on a few subjects each quarter, such as web analytics or user experience.
  3. Subscribe to relevant email newsletters like those from ClickZ and MarketingSherpa.
  4. Attend conferences like eMetrics and Ad:Tech.
  5. Stock your RSS reader with topical blogs about search marketing, web analytics, conversion and general interactive marketing, like Digital Alex.
