As I was putting together my white paper on starting a blog yesterday, I discovered that blog search engine IceRocket has a trend tool. You can put in up to 3 terms and trend their popularity over a 30 day period. Since I have had eMetrics on the brain, I thought it would be interesting to see how buzz built around the conference and key players Microsoft and Google.

Here’s a trend of “google analytics”, “gatineau” and “emetrics” (click to enlarge it)

Buzz trends for eMetrics, Microsoft’s Project Gatineau, and Google Analytics via IceRocket

eMetrics and Google Analytics both enjoyed a solid spike as the conference kicked off. Gatineau has been level, slow and steady . Now that beta 2 is rolling out, perhaps the bloggers will open the buzz floodgates. Ian’s a smart guy, so I’m sure he’s watching these metrics closely.
